At Great Beginnings, we understand that you are entrusting us with someone very precious – your child! We recognize the incredible responsibility and privilege of caring for your child while you are away, so we promise to deliver the ABC’s of Great Beginnings care to your family.

Great Beginnings is a family owned, locally operated organization that has been caring for children in the Valley since 1990. Owner, Bob Nedimyer, first served Phoenix residents as a youth pastor at a local church, and then as a police officer. Throughout these work experiences, he realized that his passion was caring for children and finding ways to make a difference in their lives. Great Beginnings was born in 1990 as Bob, and his wife LuCinda, decided to purchase one day care center where Bob had been working, and thus the vision was born for creating a place where children are protected, encouraged, and loved. The Nedimyers personally oversee the daily operations of their centers, interact with their staff, and visit with parents and families. They are parents themselves and understand what a tremendous responsibility it is to care for and nurture children. You can rest assured that while your children are at Great Beginnings that we are watching over them with great care.

Always putting safety first – we maintain a safe, healthy environment that is state licensed and CACFP certified. Our staff are strictly screened with a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and reference checks. Additionally, ALL staff are certified in First Aid and CPR. Our snacks and lunches are nutritious. We have great playgrounds to encourage exercise!
Being our best – and encouraging the best in each child. Each child is unique and we promise to take the time to meet each individual need, whether it is an extra hug, another story, or a little extra time to tie a shoe or color a picture. Giving each child lots of positive attention and reinforcement creates the warm, nurturing environment that Great Beginnings has been known for since we opened in 1990.
Communication – we have an Open Door policy – you are welcome to stop by any time and view our centers. We understand that you are the most important person in your child’s life, and so our directors and teachers welcome and encourage your daily input and feedback about your child. You will find our staff friendly, approachable, and well trained regarding the issues that affect your child. Developmentally appropriate – Great Beginnings centers offer care for children from infants to grade school age with age appropriate activities and educational curriculum based on Christian principles. Each age has its’ own developmental challenges. Whether it is gross or fine motor skills, language development, or readiness skills preparing to read, our teachers are aware of the developmental stages and tasks and are prepared to encourage your child to learn and grow! Our education programs encourage creativity, character building, and confidence as well as encouraging learning their appropriate developmental growth tasks
