 Ms. Wanda –  Director

I have two beautiful children ages 16 and 7. And I have been married to my wonderful husband for 16 years.

My experience stems from working in the childcare industry since 1998 at some of the larger corporate chains. This was great experience however I was never able to share my faith with the children or their families. I love working here at Great Beginnings where we can pray and read the Bible with our children.

My life verse is Phillipians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I love teaching this point to our children it gives them the power to do or be anything. I know that we are teaching the future doctors, preachers, teachers, etc… and what better way than to have them learn God’s word.

I have worked with children for over 10 years and have two beautiful children of my own. I long to make each child’s first school experience comfortable and loved. I love the quote in the bible where Jesus says to his disciples, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:14 I work in the office and throughout the school so I have the opportunity to help each child. I enjoy hearing their laughter and seeing their smile each and every day. 

 
 

Ms. Jan

I feel it a great privilege to teach at Great Beginnings.  I have always enjoyed working with children, but to have the opportunity to teach them about my Best Friend Jesus, is more than I ever wished for! I love to see the joy in their eyes when they understand what we are learning.

 I began teaching in 1988, and have worked with many ages.  I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, but I have found my joy is with preschoolers.  I am pursuing an Associate’s in Early Childhood.  I have been married for 16 years and have 3 children. God has truly been good to me!

Mrs. Ortega

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Susana Ortega. My husband and I moved to Phoenix in July of 1991. We were blessed with 3 sons Samuel, Kristopher, Matthew, our wonderful daughter-in-law Heather and 2 darling grandsons Paxton 8 and Caden 4. With my wonderful family, life continues to get better each day.

I believe we are created with a purpose. My purpose in life is to love and encourage our little ones to Jesus. Teaching is my passion. I have had the joy of teaching for 19 years, and have been able to see the growth of our “little darlings” as they learn through play with excitement. 

Mr. John  

One of the things I most enjoy is teaching and working with kids.  I've been a teacher for the past four years.  I have also spent several years teaching and preaching scripture as a youth leader to middle school and high school students.  I love Jesus and enjoy the regenerative grace i've experienced through Christ Jesus. I am currently pursuing a degree in elementary teaching.
  
  
  
 

Ms. Josephine

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ms. Josephine and I am a mother of four beautiful children. I have worked as an educator for early childhood for over 5 years. I love sharing God’s love with these little ones. In my class, the children begin writing and learning phonics. Music and movement is also enjoyed daily. Memory verses and Bible stories are an important part of our teaching. It is great joy to hear them quote God’s word. 

          
Ms. Nikki

I have a passion for teaching children. History is my favorite subject especially Biblical history. It is exciting to see the children’s faces light up when I tell them that the stories in the Bible are all true. Each child is special and unique and I love the laughter they bring. I pray that I am able to instill in each child a passion for learning.

My life verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.” 

     
Ms. Samantha

An important part of my life is working with children. I make a point to show unconditional love for each child like they were my own. I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach them not only their letters and numbers, but also to teach them God’s Word. Timothy is my favorite book in the Bible. 1 Timothy 4:12 is one of my favorite scriptures “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

  

  Ms. Kristy

My name is Kristy Coy. My husband and I have a two-year-old daughter, Adyson, who is our little angel. Working with children is one of my passions. Having a child of my own makes me appreciate and celebrate the privilege to witness God’s creation in motion. I began my teaching experience nine years ago as an intern at FSU working towards my Elementary Education degree. I have since worked in a child development center as a caregiver; and elementary school as a substitute, third, and fifth grade teacher. I now feel blessed to not only be guiding three and four year olds in the way of Christ, but to also have my daughter be immersed in such a faith-based, nurturing, learning environment as well. Each day, I look forward to working with the children and sharing in their excitement when they grasp new concepts or complete challenging activities. I appreciate the joy they bring to the classroom each day!
