What is faith-based early education?

Heart, mind,
and spirit.

Faith-based early education brings structured learning, play, and biblical values into the same day. Our Christ-centered approach supports early academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth for children ages 1–5.

Prayer, worship songs, and Bible stories introduce God’s love in language children can understand. As they explore letters and numbers, create, and play together, children also practice gratitude, honesty, and respect for God’s creation.

Learning through play and discovery

Small discoveries.
Room for every part of them.

Children learn by doing, talking, listening, and trying again. Teachers guide these experiences with questions, encouragement, and opportunities to practice.

Language & early literacy

Listening to a Bible story, talking about a picture book, and singing together build opportunities to use new words. Phonics activities introduce sounds and letters as children grow.

Numbers & problem-solving

Counting, sorting, and building help make early math something children can explore. Guided activities introduce number recognition and encourage children to notice patterns and try ideas.

Art, music & discovery

Creative projects, songs, and science activities invite questions about the world God made. Children practice using materials, expressing ideas, and looking closely at what they discover.

Friendships & character

Shared play gives children a place to practice patience, empathy, and respectful words. A teacher’s guidance helps connect Christian values with everyday choices.

Guidance that helps them grow

Kindness takes practice.
We practice together.

Character develops in ordinary moments: waiting for a turn, telling the truth after a mistake, or noticing a friend who needs help. Teachers offer patient guidance and positive reinforcement as children learn what to do next.

Words for big feelings

Children receive help naming feelings, listening, and using caring words. These are skills they can return to throughout the day.

A chance to make things right

Forgiveness and honesty become concrete when children practice apologizing, repairing a friendship, and trying again.

Care for shared spaces

Familiar routines and clean learning spaces support everyday care. Ask about cleaning products and any sensitivities during your visit.

Partnering with families in faith

Learning carries
through the front door.

Parents and teachers bring different parts of a child’s world together. Share what your child enjoys, what feels difficult, and the values you are practicing at home.

Talk with teachers about classroom devotionals, prayer themes, and scripture. A familiar story, a prayer of thanks, or a conversation about helping others can connect the school day with family life.

What is faith-based early education?

Faith-based early education brings Christian beliefs together with early learning and play. At Great Beginnings, children explore language, numbers, art, music, and science while learning about God’s love and practicing kindness, honesty, patience, and gratitude.

How do faith and early academics work together?

Bible stories, songs, and conversation give children opportunities to listen, learn new words, and ask questions. Guided play introduces early math and problem-solving, while shared activities give children practice in cooperation and caring for others.

What curriculum materials do you use?

Great Beginnings uses Creative Pre-K and A Beka Book materials. Structured learning and creative exploration include phonics, number recognition, art, music, science, prayer, Bible stories, and scripture memory. Activities and guidance are adapted to the age group.

What ages can participate?

Our programs serve children ages 1–5: toddlers ages 1–2, preschool for three-year-olds, and pre-K for ages 4–5. Your campus team can discuss classroom placement, your child’s needs, and current availability.

How can parents support faith and learning at home?

Talk with your child’s teachers about classroom stories, prayer themes, and scripture. Reading together, offering a simple prayer of thanks, and practicing caring words give children familiar ways to connect home and preschool.

Do families need to attend a particular church?

No. Families do not need to attend a particular church to enroll. We welcome families who are comfortable choosing a Christian preschool environment and invite you to discuss our beliefs and classroom practices during a tour.

Where can we visit, and what are the hours?

Great Beginnings has two operating campuses, in Glendale and Goodyear. Both are open Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday. Families near Litchfield Park can visit our Goodyear campus. Choose the campus that fits your family to schedule a tour.
