Our preschool curriculum supports the whole child: early literacy and math, social and emotional growth, creativity, movement, and independence. At our Glendale and Goodyear campuses, teacher-led moments and child-guided exploration work together.

Children have time to play, create, try again, and ask questions. Teachers help them find words, navigate friendships, and solve small problems as they learn.

A predictable daily schedule helps children know what comes next. The overall rhythm stays familiar, while activities and timing adjust to each age group and classroom.

What a typical day looks like

From the morning welcome to the last goodbye, care and learning go hand in hand. These moments show the flow of a typical day; exact times and the order of activities can vary by classroom and campus.

  1. Morning welcome

    A warm greeting, a place for belongings, and a familiar activity help children settle in. Teachers support the little steps toward doing things independently.

  2. Circle time

    Songs, movement, stories, and theme learning bring the class together. Short group experiences may also include simple moments of Christian character learning.

  3. Learning centers & small groups

    Children build, create, explore early literacy and math, and practice fine-motor skills. Teachers guide with questions, conversation, and help solving problems.

  4. Meals & snack routines

    Manners, gratitude, self-help skills, and cleaning up are part of learning, too. Familiar routines give children repeated chances to practice.

  1. Outdoor play & movement

    Time to move helps children build coordination and confidence. Playing together also gives them room to practice sharing, turn-taking, and managing feelings.

  2. Rest or quiet time

    A calm, supportive setting gives children space to rest and reset, with expectations suited to their age and classroom.

  3. Afternoon learning & creative play

    Centers, art, music, sensory activities, and guided play offer more opportunities to explore and revisit skills introduced earlier in the day.

  4. Pick-up transitions

    Steady routines help children finish their day calmly and reconnect with family. Teachers help make the transition home feel familiar.

Centers-based learning

It looks like play.
It’s full of learning.

A block tower becomes a chance to solve a problem. Pretend play gives children new words to try. Exploring, building, imagining, and repeating help children practice skills in ways they can understand.

Learning centers may include building, dramatic play, books and early literacy, hands-on math materials, art, fine-motor activities, sensory play, and discovery. Teachers guide with intention while leaving room for children’s ideas.

Great Beginnings combines full-day childcare with a structured preschool curriculum and daily routine. Children learn through play, guided activities, relationships, and everyday moments of growing independence.

Do children go outside daily?

Outdoor play and movement are regular parts of our daily routine. They give children opportunities to build coordination, confidence, and friendships. Ask your campus about its current classroom schedule.

Do you have rest time?

Yes. Rest or quiet time is part of the daily schedule, with a calm environment and age-appropriate expectations. Your campus team can explain how it works in your child’s classroom.

Is the schedule the same for every age and campus?

The overall rhythm is consistent, but exact timing and activities vary by classroom, age group, and campus. Toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-K children receive different levels of guidance and learning opportunities.

How is Christian faith included in the day?

Faith is part of everyday classroom life through brief prayer moments, child-friendly worship songs, Bible stories, and patient guidance. Children practice kindness, respect, honesty, gratitude, and caring for others.
